📟 What are Devices?
Resident Devices: Transmitting devices used by residents to call for assistance, such as pull cords, push buttons, or pendants.
Passive Devices: Sensors like smoke detectors, contact sensors, or motion sensors that send notifications automatically.
Note: All devices must be added to a resident's account so caregivers can receive alerts.
🛠️ How to Add a Device
- From the RCare interface, click Accounts in the main menu.
- Click on an account name to open the Edit Account screen.
- Scroll to the Wireless Devices section and click Add Device.
- On the Select Wireless Device screen, click Refresh List, then click a device ID link.
- Tip: Activate the device before refreshing to make it easier to find. Note the time you cycled it.
- Fill in the device info on the Add New Device screen and click Save Changes.
- Back on the Edit Account screen, click Save Changes (if needed) or Cancel to finish.
🏷️ Naming and Functions
Device Naming: Start with the type (e.g., Pendant, Pull Cord) for easy identification.
Device Functions:
- Normal: Standard alarm.
- Emergency: Different tone and visual indicators on RCare devices.
- RCare Check-in: Used for check-in only; should be in separate accounts/groups.
- Smoke Detector: For smoke detection alerts.
- Reset: Used to reset other devices.
- Door Bypass: Allows temporary door access without triggering alarms; must be in same account as Monitored Door.
- Monitored Door: Triggers alarms when doors are opened; requires a Reset or Door Bypass device.
- Motion Alarm: For motion detection alerts.
- Motion Reset/Bypass: Combines motion reset and door bypass functions.
