🔥 What is a Smoke Detector?

A smoke detector detects smoke, which may indicate a fire. It is integrated into the nurse call system to alert caregivers when smoke is detected.

⚙️ How It Works

When smoke is detected, the alarm sounds and a signal is sent to the nurse call system, creating an active incident. Caregivers are notified to respond.

🔄 How to Reset a Smoke Detector

  1. A technician can reset it at the central Fire Panel.
  2. An administrator can change the incident status from Active to Open via the Web Interface by clicking the “Acknowledge Incident” button.

❓ Why Reset?

  • Changes the incident status from “Active” to “Open.”
  • Stops all caregiver devices from alerting for this incident.
